Tis the season for gift giving! No doubt the elves have been busy at the workshop.. but so have the lesser known toy production bears! Bingle Bear by artist Scott Tolleson is here to deliver holiday cheer!

Bingle Bear will be up for sale on the Dead Zebra Shop starting December 10th morning at 11am EST, with shipping starting on Monday the 14th. Unfortunately due to some production and shipping delays, these are later than we’d hoped. US customers should select USPS Priority Mail for your best bet to receive in time for Xmas!

hey everyone! The annual ‘Designer Toy Awards‘ are coming up again this fall, and nominations are open for the next couple of days! May I humbly suggest a few nominations from my 2014 work?

Best Vinyl: Last Knight
I’ve got to say, I’m really proud of this one! The Dead Zebra mascot finally came to life(?) in 2014 in the form of the Last Knight figure. The first edition was an instant hit and sold out quickly, with additional smaller editions being just as coveted. I had no idea it would be so well received, but I’m very happy to be in a number of amazing collections !

Best DIY Platform: Android
I am still amazed by the continued creativity exhibited by the artists bringing out the potential of what seems on the surface to be such a straight forward form! Here are a few recent customs. The 1,000+ and growing custom Androids on record at Trampt speak to the continued popularity of our little guy as an awesome platform.

This is a designer toy award, and 2014 saw 20+ production figure releases from me including the Last Knight, the Back to Back Black series (a decade in the making!), Dealmakers , Mardivale Dunny series, Lemon Drop 3” and Orange Drop 20” Dunnys. Throw in all my resin work for ‘Factory Strangers’ show at Stranger Factory and perhaps you might also consider me for Artist of the Year? 2014 was certainly the busiest in my toy career!

And why not throw in Dead Zebra Inc as brand of the year for shits and giggles?

International Comic Con 2015 Preview!

Stop by the Dumbrella booth (#1335, 1337) at the International Comic Con this July 8th-12th for the good stuff! I’ll be there along with my Dumb pals R Stevens, Jon Rosenberg and puzzle master Chris Yates!

Finally! A new collection of creatures featuring a menagerie of monsters from 2008-2015. This new book clocks in at 144 pages, and has the same size flexi-cover as the Do Not Eat collection. Make It Stop will be available for $12, or bundled with Do Not Eat for a discount! Available from fine retailers and the Dead Zebra Shop later this summer.

No summer is complete without a trip to the beach.. or a summer edition Android! This year we feature a two pack of a sunburnt lifeguard (with tiny whistle) and a swimming prankster (complete with fake shark fin!). We’re gonna need a bigger shelf! This set will be available for $20.

New shirt designs include ‘Hello World’ and the simple but adorable ‘Panda’ along with some popular classics such as ‘Astronomiton’, ‘Tagged’ and ‘Karoshi San’! Available in S-2XL with some in women’s cuts as well for $20 each or $17 each if you buy 3 or more.

You asked for it.. several hundred times over the last three years.. the Never Look Back series continues with a rather uneasy eel. Available for $10 each or in a full set of 4 for $30. We’re also bringing along some Android Foundry Propaganda posters and a creatures print or two!

As always we have lots of full color high quality die cut stickers, including new Creatures, summer Androids, Glop, Karoshi and more!

…for Science!

…for science! You couldn’t read this blog post from a tiny handheld computer via invisible information waves while sitting on a toilet inside a flying machine 30,000 feet above the surface of our planet if it weren’t for science! While we’re all naturally curious creatures, some are a bit more commited than others. “…for Science!” is a series of Android Mini Collectible special edition figures celebrating some of the greatest scientific minds in history.

We’re kicking off this (hopefully ongoing) series with three of the best and brightest: Sir Isaac Newton, Marie Curie and Nikola Tesla.

Each 3″ figure includes an appropriate accessory and comes in a foil stamped windowed display box featuring a short summary of their most notable achievements on the back. This series was created in collaboration with former Android engineer Dan Morrill.

Science isn’t restricted to great minds, anyone can make a great discovery or run their own experiments! So, remember to yell “For Science!” before you throw that switch, start that reaction, or eat that questionable combination of hot dogs and mint ice cream that your 4 year old nephew insists he ‘cooked’ just for you.

The popular To-Fu Oyako character comes to Android with this nested Mother and Son combination from the Devilrobots team!

Keep them together, or pop the head off of Mother (carefully!) to remove a mini keychain Son. Dig in at a 1/16 ratio!

Series 05 release info update!

The new Androids are starting to arrive at toy and specialty retailers, including some of the shops listed here! Be sure to check in with your local retailer, or put in a request if they don’t carry them yet!

We’ll have our own stock up in the Dead Zebra Inc shop for $9 each blindbox or in discounted full cases starting tomorrow, February 5th at 11am EST [edit: previously wrote 11pm!]

Android Foundry Scarf Party!

It’s cold as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore! These new knit acrylic scarves are super warm and cozy. We have a “Big Bot” green Android head design and a blue/black “Hangout” design, and while we were at it we made a few iconic Pixel Skull designs for our friend Rich over at Diesel Sweeties! All are two colors and double sided

It’s no secret that I love cookies. I have a problem and the only solution is chocolate chip cookies.. or peanut butter cookies.. or oatmeal cookies. Really I’m not that picky. This Android has been baking up some sweet treats all night long, and maybe sampling a few of the goods as he worked.

Series 05 shipping/sales Update

This series has been a bit cursed between production and shipping delays, but I’m happy to announce that the figures are finally arriving at their respective destination warehouses! You should start seeing them at specialty retailers online and in the real world (remember that?) within a week or two as shipments start to arrive. We’ll have our own up in the Dead Zebra Inc shop next week, so check back for specific release times soon!

Let’s take a minute to reflect here.. perhaps you recall the shiny Gold edition or the shiny Green chase from Series 04? We had many request for a straight up chrome edition, the mirror finish was too magically shiny to not bring back!

Dangerous to photograph without pants on, but beautiful to behold, Chrome comes in a 1/16 ratio.

I think it’s about time we formally meet a few of the new Androids! The fifth installment of our artist and designer series of Android mini collectibles will finally be arriving soon.

Time time we’ve got some usual suspects including Andrew Bell, Gary Ham, Scott Tolleson and Kong Andri who are joined by our new friends Devilrobots, Reactor-88, Jon Paul Kaiser and Lunabee!

Within the next few weeks, Series 05 will be arriving in toy, comic, specialty and online retailers across the world. We’ll be previewing some of the new designs here on a regular basis.

We’re kicking it off with this sadly adorable Panda from the fine folks at Google! Don’t worry, he’s far from endangered with a ratio of 2/16.

A rare sight in nature, but easy to find in S05 at a 1/16 ratio is Gary Ham‘s Sk8 Cop!

Sk8 Cop confiscates boards from no-good kids.. so he can ride them himself! Comes complete with mini Android skateboard and a sheet of little stickers to slap on his board, his back, or his friends.

Ornament Androids are back! These guys were a huge hit last year in Blue and Red and we got many requests for a good ole ‘Android Green’ edition.. so here we go!

Available in the Dead Zebra Shop starting Monday, December 15th at 11am EST with more made available at 11pm EST. For people who want to really deck out their halls, we’re making them available as either single, double, 5-packs or 10-packs for $10, $20, $45 and $90 respectively.

US customers select Priority Mail to help ensure US delivery in time for Xmas! International customers will have to stock up or next year as they will likely not arrive in time, sorry!

Series 5 is on its way! Unfortunately due to some production delays, we weren’t able to get them out in time for the holidays, but they should start appearing at retailers and online towards the end of January! Here’s a little preview of Gary Ham‘s ‘Sk8 Cop’ design

Back To Back Black

If you’ve been following the teasers on instagram then you probably saw this coming. Out with the new, in with the old! We’re re-visiting some old favorites with special dark editions that we’ve been slowly collecting (and selfishly hoarding) for years! To celebrate we’re dividing up the runs and taking them on an east coast / west coast adventure, with a final stop online for everyone else!

Here’s a sneak peek at just a few of the items that will be exclusive to, debuting at, or otherwise available from myself and my collaborative partners at the 2014 International Comic Con in San Diego this July 23-28th!

We’ll have a whole bunch of Android stuff, but the real star of the show is the Android Mini Collectibles Heroes & Villains II set! The set will be available starting Preview Night with limited supplies available each day. $40, limited to 2 sets per person.

We’ve got a ton of new full color high quality die cut stickers, including new Creatures, a Last Knight, Androids, and more! $1 each or $4 for 5! Android Set B includes 10 mini Androids for $8. We’ll also have a few huge Android wall stickers on hand!

They’ll have these hand-cast resin sculptures by Scott Wilkowski x Android Foundry in four different deadly colors for $70 each. Only at DKE Toys (#5045)!Last but not least.. Last Knight is back! Following the incredible release of the original edition (thanks!) we’ve teamed up with BAIT to bring you the really limited and really red ‘Field Dress’ edition and skateboard! The figure is hand numbered in an edition of only 100 pieces, slated to be available for $75 or for only $100 with the matching skate deck. Only at BAIT (#4949)!
